Help and Video Contest Rules

Registering:

1. Click on the "Sign Up" link that appears in the upper right hand corner of the Outdoor Line Video page 2. Enter your email address, User Name, and Password and click the "Sign Up" button. (spaces, dashes, and other special characters are not allowed in the Username) 3. Click on the "Upload" button 4. To upload videos, you must first validate your email address. 5. Click on the "Send Email" button that appears on the "Upload" page. This will send an email to you with a link to activate your account. NOTE: Only click it once, then wait for the email. 6. The verification email may take a few minutes to arrive. Once it has arrived click the link within the email. You will be taken to video.theoutdoorline.com and your email address will be verified. 7. You are now ready to upload your videos to The Outdoor Line.

Uploading Your Videos:

1. Once logged in, click the link titled "Upload". 2. Enter the title of your video, description, search tags, and select the best channel or channels for your video and click "Continue". 3. Now use the "Browse" button to access your computer and select your video clip. 4. Click "Upload". 5. As your video uploads, you will see a status window that gives you information about how long it will take to upload. You might be able to minimize this window during the upload process, but do not close it or your video will not be uploaded. 6. Once uploaded, it may take a few more minutes as the software converts the video. 7. Within minutes, your video is online.

Embedding Videos

1.Click "Upload" 2. Enter a title, brief description, and search tags for the video to be embedded. 3. Select the appropriate channel or channels for your video 4.click "Submit" to go to Step 2 5. At the top of the "Step 2" window click on the "Embed" button 6. Copy the embed code from your video into the "Embed Code" window 7. Click the "Browse" button to select a thumbnail image for your video 8. Enter the length of the video in minutes and seconds. NOTE: Both fields need to be filled 9. Click the "Upload" button and your video will be embedded on The Outdoor Line video page

For Best Online Video Quality:

When saving video on your personal computer use a bit rate of 1000 Kbits or larger and size the video at 320x240 or larger, using a codec of MPEG-2 or MPEG-4.
